“My story with plants is deeply rooted in family and the memories they created for me. Growing up, I was surrounded by a vibrant love for nature, shaped by my mother’s Costa Rican roots and the spirit of Pura Vida—a way of life that celebrates simplicity, natural beauty, and a deep connection to the earth.
My father poured his heart into our garden, filling it with herbs, vegetables, and a wild tapestry of flowers, while my mother turned our home into a lush haven, filling every corner with greenery.
Together, they created a space that embodied the spirit of living fully and harmoniously with nature. 🌿
As I grew older and life became busier, I found myself longing for that grounding connection to nature. Discovering Biophilic design felt like reconnecting with a piece of my soul I’d forgotten.

How did your first plant impact you? 🌱
“My very first plant was a Euphorbia Trigona, given to me by a family member around 15 years ago 🌵 Although I no longer have that exact plant, its legacy lives on in the family, as we’ve kept its lineage going.
About 3.5 years ago, I was lucky enough to get a cutting from it again. This “grandchild” Euphorbia has grown so much since then and holds a lot of sentimental value for me. 🙏🏼
That cactus sparked my love for plants, but during Covid, when times were tough, plants became more than just a hobby 🌱 I dove deeper into collecting, and along the way, I discovered how much joy I got from sharing my plants on Instagram.
Connecting with others who shared the same passion brought me so much happiness. Now, I’m grateful to be part of an incredible plant community here on Instagram, and my home has grown into a thriving green space with over 100 plants 💚

"Surprisingly enough, I wasn’t the one to start my plant journey. Back in 2020, at the height of quarantine, my husband said our apartment needed more greenery. As someone who goes all in or nothing, I took that as a challenge.
Now, over four years later, I’ve gone from one or two plants to a whole jungle in our home.
I’ve always been someone who struggles to keep a hobby for a long period of time—I get bored very easily, and if there’s no challenge involved, I usually walk away. The positive thing about plants is that there is always something! Whether it’s repotting, watering, dealing with pests, or even just propagating, it keeps my mind more stimulated than any other hobby ever has.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to own my own business—whether it was a coffee shop, a bookstore, or even a tea store, I wanted something of my own. As I was building my collection, so many people told me, “You should open up a plant store,” and that’s when I thought, “I know what I want to do with my life!” In September, I finally launched my own little business, “The Planted Bean,” where I sell fun and unique plants for all levels of plant parents.
To think, only four years ago I bought my first plant, and now I’m running my own little business! Time flies when you’ve got over 100 plants to care for. ;)"

“My plants are my safe haven!! It’s a privilege to be called a plant mom among my friends 💚 And my journey with them began back in 2020.
It was kind of an addiction in a good way I would say 😇 they helped me cope with my anxiety & fear back then.
In 2021 I packed my suitcases 🧳 bid goodbye to my sweet plants (that are now at my parents house) and relocated to Copenhagen, DK because of work. I slowly started to fill my house with pothos, then came the philodendrons, the Alocasias & the anthuriums 🙈 with a blink of an eye my house and my life was taken over by these high-maintenance drama kings and queens 😅
I now have around 200+ plants in my apartment, the aroids sit in the green house cabinet like the elite group 🥸 some of them take the window seat & rest of them are happy being seated next to the couch & On a bamboo shelves in my living room.
What have plants done for me?
🌱 Cheered me up
🌱 Reduced my anxiety
🌱 Spread good vibes & you instantly feel that positivity being surrounded by them
🌱 Taught me patience & to root for oneself
