How does your connection to plants nurture you? 🫶
“My story with plants is deeply rooted in family and the memories they created for me. Growing up, I was surrounded by a vibrant love for nature, shaped by my mother’s Costa Rican roots and the spirit of Pura Vida—a way of life that celebrates simplicity, natural beauty, and a deep connection to the earth.
My father poured his heart into our garden, filling it with herbs, vegetables, and a wild tapestry of flowers, while my mother turned our home into a lush haven, filling every corner with greenery.
Together, they created a space that embodied the spirit of living fully and harmoniously with nature. 🌿
As I grew older and life became busier, I found myself longing for that grounding connection to nature. Discovering Biophilic design felt like reconnecting with a piece of my soul I’d forgotten.
What began with a few plants soon grew into a journey of creativity, where I built living walls and experimented with designs that brought nature into my home in ways that felt nurturing. ✨
Now, I often see my children captivated by the plants in their rooms or drawn outside to sit quietly, listening to the birds or feeling the gentle breeze.
They’re able to be present, fully absorbing the beauty around them, and in those moments, I feel joy, knowing that this connection to nature is alive and thriving in them. My hope is that by telling my story, I can inspire others to find their way back to nature and create spaces that nurture the soul. 🤗”

How have plants helped you through tough times? 🫶
“Plants have been a part of my life for about seven years, and throughout this journey, I’ve come to appreciate their therapeutic benefits, which align with my work as a therapist.
This connection deepened when I lost my dad last year. It was an unexpected loss, and many days, the weight of my grief made getting out of bed feel challenging.
During that time, I turned to my plants. I opened the windows to let in the light and watered them to keep them thriving. I found purpose in caring for them, feeling proud of my collection and determined to help them flourish.
Eventually, I began to envision a life without my dad, and I owe much of that progress to my plants. They kept me going when I needed it most. Now, I continue to take mindful moments with my plants, especially during challenging times.
They truly have the power to change everything.”
